To be an entrepreneur, you have to have passion, dedication, courage, and such resilience – Trinny Woodall

Sarah-Jane Duncanson, known as “Trinny” Woodall, is a multi-talented personality from the UK who has established herself as a beauty entrepreneur, businesswoman, fashion expert, makeover specialist, television host, and writer.

This quote attributed to her, is straight forward, however i want to expand on it, because it does list what it takes to be an entrepreneur. We often attribute entrepreneurship to one or two attributes, in reality, to succeed as an entrepreneur, many qualities are required!

To be an entrepreneur, you have to have passion, dedication, courage, and such resilience.

What does it really take to be an entrepreneur ? I tried answering this question multiple times, check the articles at the end of this post.

First let’s check Trinny’s quote, where i think, she effectively enumerated most of the qualities that are actually needed to be a successful entrepreneur. Any one can be an entrepreneur, but to be a successful one, it is not easy. Hence the term be an entrepreneur, should be understood as be a successful entrepreneur.

To be an entrepreneur, you have to have passion: That’s for sure. Yes you can launch a business and not be passionate about it, and it might make you a lot of money. But, that’s really the exception. In most cases, when you are not passionate about the project you are doing, it will not be successful.

To be an entrepreneur, you have to have dedication: Your project will take a lot of your time, you need to be ready to dedicate serious amount of time for the project.

To be an entrepreneur, you have to have courage: Entrepreneurship is also about trying to figure out what works. A lot of testing is required. A lot of risks need to be taken, and hence courage is essential.

To be an entrepreneur, you have to have resilience: Persistence, perseverance, determination, or simply resilience. Sometimes you need to be able to withstand setbacks and get back on track. In business a lot of thing can and do go wrong or get derailed, the ability to get back on track is very important for the success of the company. And this ability is often linked to the resilience the entrepreneur has.
