Stress doesn’t come from hard work. Stress primarily comes from not taking action over something that you can have some control over – Jeff Bezos

I came across this quote by Jeff Bezos (added the video of the statement):

Stress doesn’t come from hard work. Stress primarily comes from not taking action over something that you can have some control over

– Jeff Bezos

It is really tough to give an opinion on this. Jeff is a big advocate of following your passion. As you can notice from another statement he made:
Pursue your passions, the risks are not as great as they seem to be -Jeff Bezos

Hard work can be stressful, but it does not have to be. However in my opinion there is always some elements of stress associate with any work.

The second part is a bit difficult to decipher: “Stress primarily comes from not taking action over something that you can have some control over”. I can’t seem to be able to figure this part, is he trying to say that stress is the result of missed decisions?

I feel this quote is very specific to Jeff’s life, and might rarely apply to other people. Unless, it is something that can be associated with leadership position, where hard work is not really real work but it’s rather making decisions.
