What most know is that for Mark the facebook was a result of working on a his passion, thus and as you can see in early facebook videos, it was fun.

However this is the first quote that ignore the value of planning. Planning is important, a master plan is important … but how effective is it?

Essentially, the point is, and especially in tech entrepreneurship, things do change fast. A multi year master plan could be obsolete in a couple years with advent of new technologies.

For none tech entrepreneurs, multi year master plan might still have value, but of course you will need to take care of all challenges that arise. Passion helps you succeed with or without a master plan.
