Gig Economy Definition



After covering freelancer definition, i have no choice but to present to you the gig economy definition.
So what is the gig economy?

The gig economy is a labour market characterized by the prevalence of freelancers or workers working for their own, through a technology platform without being employed by this platform. The gig economy is mostly freelance work, or very short-term contracts with individuals and companies.

Some examples of gig economy:

1- Uber: drivers: Not employed by uber, they are hired directly by the rider for a short ride.
2- Freelance sites: The freelancer is paid to perform a specific task by the customer, who found the freelancer through the platform.
3-Uber eats and food delivery apps: You become a delivery boy for the customer, for a small amount of money.
